In this article, you’ll learn how to display a to-do list that seamlessly blends into your home screen backdrop.

This is made possible with a widget from the iOS app SyncTasks, which can be used on its own but also conveniently syncs tasks from Apple Reminders or Notion.

1. Add widget to home screen

First, download SyncTasks from the App Store.

Then, press and hold an empty area on your home screen to enter edit mode and add a widget.

Search for “SyncTasks” in the widget menu and select the “Minimal Tasks List” widget.

Finally, edit the widget to select which task list you’d like to display.

2. Choose Large option for home screen

Hold an empty area on the home screen to enter Edit mode again, then go to Customize.

Choose the Large option to hide labels of apps and widgets.

3. Use the same color for home screen wallpaper

To blend the widget into your home screen, simply set your wallpaper color to match the widget background.

Go to the SyncTasks app settings and download the provided wallpapers under the Wallpapers tab.

Set a custom photo as the home screen wallpaper.

Alternatively, set a color wallpaper and enter hex code #F3F3F3 for light mode or #242424 for dark mode.

Bonus: Customize widget background color

The app also provides the option to customize the background color of the widget.

If you want to use your own color for your phone wallpaper, go to SyncTasks app settings. Under Widgets, scroll to the bottom and find the “Custom background color” option. Toggle it on to choose your custom color.
