6 Minimalist Android Apps for 2025
These 6 apps help you use your phone more intentionally.
My first weekend with a new Android phone, and I already know these 6 apps are here to stay.
Some are familiar, while others are new, but they all help me use my phone more intentionally.
Inoreader
Inoreader is a read later and RSS reader app that lets you curate your own newsfeed from your favorite websites and creators.

Apps like Inoreader eliminate the need to hop between websites and blogs for new posts or updates while also allowing you to save articles to read later in one place.
BuzzKill
I prefer keeping notifications off for most apps, as I also mentioned in my first things to do on a new Galaxy phone.
If you prefer to keep notifications on, BuzzKill is the perfect notification manager.

No more non-urgent pings throughout the day. You can simply check and revisit past notifications in the app when you have time.
What makes BuzzKill truly powerful is its ability to create rules based on the title or description of notifications.
This allows you to automate actions like cooling down apps to prevent multiple notifications in succession, unsilencing to be alerted of a notification, or even setting off an alarm.
Beeper
Beeper brings all your chats from WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram, and more into one app.

No more constant app switching or getting distracted by social feeds while replying to Instagram DMs.
Check all your messages in one place, at your own time.
One Sec
We call One Sec the app that helps you think twice before scrolling social media.

Instead of outright blocking distracting apps or social media, it gives you a space to make the right decision.
Each time you open a selected app, you’re met with an intervention screen for a few seconds, prompting you to take a deep breath before deciding whether to continue or exit.
With mindless scrolling becoming a growing issue, this app can be a helpful tool to regain control of your screen time.
Before Launcher
Before Launcher is a simple, text-based launcher designed to minimize visual clutter and distractions.

Say goodbye to vibrant, attention-grabbing app icons and hello to intentional app usage. I've also written a dedicated article explaining why I use it.
Endel
Endel is a background music player that creates personalized soundscapes to help you focus, relax, and sleep.

While its effectiveness varies from person to person, the app is well-built and beautifully minimalistic in design.
Additionally, a single account works seamlessly across iOS, Android, Mac, and Windows platforms.
